Floresville Middle School Joins FHS FCCLA and AFJROTC for Campus Cleanup!

Recently, 15 Floresville Middle School students joined 10 Family, Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and 25 FHS AFJROTC cadets to clean up the Middle School campus.  The ROTC sponsored event is a community service cleanup effort that focuses on all FISD campuses.

The purpose is to create a more professional, cleaner campus environment to encourage and support
an improved academic learning environment for all students.  Because there were so many volunteers, the group was able to also give the high school campus
a cleanup.

Student organization leaders planning and completing the project together included Harlea Shultz and Abigail Martinez with FMS, Charley Clark, President of FCCLA and Cadet Colonel Jeremy Sanders, Fall Semester AFJROTC Corps Commander.  After the cleanup, ROTC hosted a pizza and beverages lunch and movie, Star Wars V, “The Empire Strikes Back”.  They also conducted drill team demonstrations and gave their FMS and FCCLA student guests a chance to fly the classroom flight simulator and tryout the One Rope Bridge team building exercise.  The event also provided a unique mentoring opportunity for the high school students to the middle school students.

Everyone had fun!
