Cadets Defend U.S. Open Title

At the recent U.S. Open Raider Championships at Camp Bullis, 40 FHS ROTC cadets competed on 2 Tiger and 2 Jaguar teams from among 56 teams across Texas and the midwestern United States. Repeating again as U.S. Open Air Force Service Champions, the female varsity Jaguar team won their division for a second year in a row. The winning Jaguars were commanded by Cadet Angel Roberson. The varsity male Tiger team, commanded by Cadet Chris Barclay, finished 2nd behind Clark high school but edging out John Jay in the Air Force division. The Raider meet is a grueling two day fitness challenge with five events, including a 3.2 mile team trail run and two obstacle courses. All the cadets celebrated their success returning to the Riverwalk for a team celebration. To learn more about the FHS ROTC program search "Floresville AFJROTC" on youtube.
