Female Student of the Month – January
Alyssa Flores is the 17 year-old daughter of Jose and Nelda Flores. Alyssa is in all advanced and dual credit classes and works as an Office Aide through the Co-Op program. Her strengths are: Includer, Restorative, Empathy, Arranger and Individualization.
As a member of the Mighty Tiger Band, Alyssa is kept busy beginning before school starts due to sectionals and on her weekends. She participates in the Solo & Ensemble Contest. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Council which both keep her busy throughout the year.
Alyssa is currently a team member of the Sacred Heart Teen ACTS. She serves her community through service projects, visits local nursing homes, Veteran’s Homes and participated in Santa’s Workshop for the 2nd year in a row.
Alyssa plans to attend either St. Mary’s University or UTSA where she hopes to major in Forensic Science.
Male Student of the Month – January
Isaac Silva is the 17-year-old son of Isaac and Sara Silva. He is in the top ten percent of his graduating class taking all advanced and dual credit classes. His strengths are: Input, Competition, Achiever, Context and Intellection.
Isaac has received recognition for his academics by being on the All-A Honor Roll and receiving the dual credit US History award last year. He is an active member in the Mighty Tiger Band on the drumline. Isaac participates on the UIL Academic team in Current Events, Social Studies and the Cross-Examination Debate teams. Isaac will be competing on the Cross-Examination Debate team later this school year. Last year, Isaac placed at the District UIL meet for Social Studies.
Isaac has been accepted to both Texas Tech and the University of Texas at Austin where he plans to major in pre-law and business in hopes of becoming a lawyer.
