FHS Summer School Student Expectations
Summer School Student Expectations
Any violations or behavior which would otherwise be punishable by suspension (in-school or out of school) will result in the student’s immediate removal from the summer session. We will adhere strictly to the rules governing attendance/behavior/dress code based on the FISD student code of conduct. (You can request a copy of the FISD student code of conduct or visit the FISD website at fisd.us.) Since time in summer school is limited, the teachers or administrators may not be able to make parental contacts concerning your child’s behavior. So, these rules and regulations will serve as your child’s first and only warning. Please discuss with your child about the importance of their behavior and to take advantage of this opportunity that has been made available to them.
All students must be in dress code compliance according to the FISD dress code policy. Any student who violates the dress code policy will be removed from the Summer School Program.
All FHS facilities are off limits to students during summer school, other than their assigned classrooms.
All students must leave the campus as soon as their class ends. Students will not be allowed to wait for other students or be in any other area of the high school campus. If a student is in violation, they will be removed from summer school.
Students will not be allowed to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, parents will not be allowed to drop off lunch for students due to the limited summer staff.
Cellular phones must be turned off during the class time. If they are used, they will be taken up and returned to the parent if requested or at the end of the Summer School Program. Continuous violations will be dismissal from summer school.
GRADES/REPORT CARDS/COURSE COMPLETION
A progress report will be emailed on Thursdays. Final grades of Pass (“P”) or Fail (“F”) will be given for all summer school courses. Summer school courses will be computer based. Course completion depends on the students’ pace and dedication. Students must be on task and focused in order to earn credit during summer school. Students who are off-task run the risk of not regaining credit. Once students compete their assigned courses, they no longer need to attend summer school.
