Dr. Twila Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science in History and English, Master of Science in History and Politics, and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership all from Texas A & M University – Kingsville.
She began her educational career as a Middle School History and English teacher in Kingsville, Texas in 1995. She moved on to teach High School English, Government, Economics, Geography, US History, and AP and dual credit courses.
After teaching in the public schools for fifteen years, Dr. Johnson transitioned to the post-secondary arena as a community college and university instructor. She moved to the administrative role in 2011 as a community college site Director and then in 2012 as the Dean of Academics for the College.
In June of 2015, Dr. Johnson eagerly began her new role as the CTE Coordinator in FISD with a goal to lead students to prosperous lives into the 21st century by providing them the tools for a solid foundation in academic skills, employability skills, and technical skills.
She lives on a ranch in Kenedy with her husband, Kenny, where they raise Simbrah and Simmental cattle. She is the proud mom of two talented daughters, Kendra, a reading specialist and former Teacher of the Year in Houston, and Kayla, a geriatric Occupational Therapist.
