May Students of the Month

May Female Student of the Month

The May Female Student of the Month is Aryn Cook. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Darla and Dane Cook. Aryn is very active at Floresville High School.  She is in Link Crew, the Gifted and Talented Program, National Honor Society, and is a member of the FFA participating in Radio & Milk judging. At the State Milk Judging Contest, Aryn placed 14th individually and 14th overall as a team. She has been on the All-A Honor Roll every year while attending Floresville High School. Her current GPA is 104.3274 and currently ranks 4th out of 293 graduating seniors.

Through the FHS Work-based Learning program, Aryn works at Floresville South Elementary in the after school care program. She volunteers with Relay for Life and at Connally Memorial Hospital. In her spare time, when not studying, she is spending time with family and friends.

Aryn will attend the University of Texas at Austin where she intends to major in Biology with an emphasis in pre-medicine. Her strengths are WOO, Positivity, Futuristic, Communication and Includer.

May Male Student of the Month

The May Male Student of the Month is Michael Lopez. He is the 18-year-old son of Norma and Raul Lopez.  He is in the top ten of his graduating class. His current GPA is 104.1370 and currently ranks 6th out of 293 graduating seniors.

Michael is in all-advanced courses.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and an assistant instructor at the American Black Belt Institute.  He has been on the All-A Honor Roll and had Perfect Attendance while attending Floresville High School.

He has a part-time job doing outside maintenance work and lawn services.  In his spare time, Michael enjoys reading science fiction books. Every year, the National Hispanic Recognition Program recognizes a select few Hispanic/Latino students for outstanding performance on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and the Nation Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in their junior year. Michael scored in the top 2.5% among all Hispanic and Latino test-takers in our region.

He intends to go to Texas Lutheran University and pursue a degree in Biochemistry with hopes to get acceptance into medical school.  His strengths are Deliberative, Responsibility, Relator, Input and Connectedness.
