November Students of the Month

November Female Student 

        Kaitlin Jowers is the 17-year-old daughter of Margaret and Raymond Jowers.  Kaitlin has an approximate GPA of 3.5 and is very involved in school activities. Her strengths are: Achiever, Learner, Responsibility, Focus and Individualization.

       As a member of the ROTC, Kaitlin is a member of the Kitty Hawk Air Society.  Effective Tuesday, she will be the Core Commander for the ROTC program. She is a member of the National Honor Society, a member of her church’s TEEN ACTS, and is a princess with the San Antonio Lutheran Coronation.  She also participates on the Powerlifting team as a Varsity member. Kaitlin is involved with BPA. Kaitlin also referees volleyball for the All City Youth Program and also coaches occasionally.

       When not busy with her school activities or work in her advanced and dual credit classes, Kaitlin volunteers with ROTC campus clean-ups, Vacation Bible School in the summers, and accepting Harvey Donations.  She is one of the top three ROTC cadets from leadership camp this summer – serving as the highest ranking Floresville cadet to date.  Kaitlin also works through the school’s Education Practicum at the South Elementary as an office aide.

      Kaitlin plans to attend Baylor University as a pre-medicine biology major and join the ROTC program.

November Male Student of the Month

       Tyr Pett is the 17-year-old son of Christina and Brian Pett.  He has an approximate overall GPA of 3.89 and is very active in school and community activities. His strengths are: Learner, Restorative, Input, Ideation and Individualization.

       Tyr is a member of the Mighty Tiger Band where he is the trombone section leader, a member of the ROTC where he serves as Personnel Officer, a member of Junior Historians and National Honor Society.  In addition to his many activities, Tyr is in all advanced classes.

       He has been recognized for his hard work in ROTC by receiving the Military Order of the World Wars General Simpson Award and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Award.  He participates in ROTC campus clean-ups and tours of the Polley Mansion and Witte Museum through Junior Historians.  He is the top-ranking Science scholar for the UIL Academics Team and has received many awards at various UIL meets.

Tyr hopes to attend a service academy or college and participate in the ROTC program. He plans to major in electrical engineering.
