January Students of the Month

January Female Student of the Month

       Sarah Bruett is the 17-year-old daughter of Catherine and Randy Bruett. She has a 4.0 GPA and is in the top ten percent of her graduating class. Her strengths are Relator, Restorative, Discipline, Developer, and Belief.

Sarah is a princess on the Floresville Peanut Festival Court and an active member of her church youth group assisting with Vacation Bible School and volunteering with the many youth activities.  In addition, Sarah is active in her 4-H group where she had participated in the baked foods competitions.

       In school, Sarah takes all advanced and dual credit classes yet still finds time to participate in school and outside organizations.  She was a Link Crew Leader her junior year, serves as the secretary for the National Honor Society, participates in band, and was a member of the Jaguar softball program.  She has consistently been on the All A Honor Roll and has received the Perfect Attendance Award.  Additionally, Sarah served on the Student Council, her freshman and sophomore years. 

       Sarah plans to attend Texas A&M Corpus Christi where she intends to major in counseling and/or social work. 

 

January Male Student of the Month

        Ryan Rakowitz is the 17-year-old son of Roxane and Russell Rakowitz.  He is in the top ten percent of his graduating class. His strengths are Input, Competition, Communication, Achiever, and Woo.

       Ryan is an active member of the FFA, serving as an officer for the past three years, this year as Vice President. He also currently serves as the FFA Alamo District Secretary.  He is on the Principal’s Advisory Committee and is a member of the National Honor Society.  As a member of FFA, Ryan has participated on the Livestock Judging Team which has advanced to state for the past three years, Tractor Restoration for 4-years as well as the State Tractor Tech team.  He is a Link Crew Leader and serves as an Executive Committee member, and he has been a class officer all four years of high school.

       Ryan has received the Perfect Attendance Award and made All A Honor Roll for the past several years.  He takes all advanced level classes while also holding down a part-time job at Sunnyside Ranch.  He volunteers at Sacred Heart Catholic Church as a lector and in ACTS group, participates in highway clean-ups, collects toys for Sherriff Santa and participates in Christmas Caroling at the veteran’s home.

       Ryan plans to attend Texas A&M University, College Station where he intends to major in Ag Economics.
