Dr. Joseph C. Farnsworth has spent over twenty years in public education. He started his career in Fort Worth ISD as a biology teacher and coach. After earning his Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington, he transitioned into administration in 2005. In 2011, he graduated with his doctorate from Arizona State University. His career has included being a classroom teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, human resource director, and a rural superintendent. As principal of Robert E. Lee High School in Goose Creek CISD he was able to lead this campus to consecutive Apple Distinguished Designations and also oversaw the STEM Academy reaching “Model Status” in 2019 as designated by the National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC). Despite Lee High School having many risk factors, Dr. Farnsworth and his team increased academic achievement by earning a "B" rating from TEA. Dr. Farnsworth was named Goose Creek CISD Secondary Principal of the Year in 2018 and in May 2020 was named Region IV Secondary Principal of the Year for the Houston Region. Dr. Farnsworth is married to his childhood sweetheart, Jenae. They just celebrated their 25th anniversary. Jenae is an elementary school teacher at Lytle Primary School. They have five children, Jacey, Jackson, Jayton, Jaren, and Journie.
