Mr. Trey King, teacher at the Floresville High School, has been named Teacher of the Month for December. Here's what his principal, Dr. Joseph Farnsworth, had to say about him:
Mr. King is married to his wife, Gabrielle, who is an alumni of FHS and a longtime resident of Floresville. He attended college at Texas Lutheran University, majoring in both Chemistry and Mathematics. Mr. King pursued his Masters degree at Duke University focused on Chemistry. He has worked in his industry for 20 years while also working as an adjunct professor. Mr. King is in his 10th year of teaching and his second year at Floresville ISD. We are so pleased to have him on our staff! He has been an outstanding addition.
Some of his students say, "I love Mr. King. He is an amazing teacher. He works extremely hard to make sure we have interactive learning." "He likes to joke around with other students and creates a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere in his classroom, which helps his students succeed," and "Mr. King is one of my favorite teachers. He works hard to make sure all of his students understand and work hard in his class."
Karen Aparicio and Eric Escobar, seniors at FHS, are the Students of the Month for December. Here's what their Dr. Farnsworth had to say about them:
Karen is the daughter of Gabriel and Melissa Aparicio. She started school in Floresville during the third grade and is active in a vast array of school activities, including marching band, dance, One Act Play, Student Council, National Honor Society, Link Crew, and served as Princess of Divine Tides on this year's Floresville Peanut Festival Court. Karen is on track to graduate from Coastal Bend College with an Associates degree and her goals after high school include attending medical school to pursue a career as a forensic medical examiner.
Eric is the son of Robert Escobar and Kiana Kotzur. He has spent his entire educational career at Floresville ISD and was by far a class favorite when teachers voted for student of the month. Eric is on the tennis team, as well as our marching band. He has a passion for music that he wants to pursue a college degree in music education and one day return to Floresville to teach music in honor of all the teachers and staff who have helped him along the way, and we would be lucky to have him.
